Watery Yogurt Parfait
Your parfait is watery because fruit released juice into the yogurt. Drain and layer to keep it thick.
watery yogurt soggy granola vegetarian gluten-free
Ingredients on hand
- yogurt parfait
- paper towels
- granola
- berries
- honey
Why it happened
Fruit juice dilutes yogurt and softens granola. Draining and drying removes excess liquid so the layers stay distinct.
The fix
- 1 strain the yogurt through paper towels for 5 minutes to thicken
- 2 drain juicy fruit and pat dry before layering
- 3 add granola right before serving to keep it crisp
If it's still wrong
- Blend into a smoothie bowl and top with fresh granola.
- Chill for 10 minutes to firm the yogurt.
Prevent next time
- Use thicker yogurt like Greek.
- Layer fruit between granola so it does not sit in the yogurt.
Notes
Why this works
Removing liquid is the fastest fix. Thick yogurt holds its shape, and dry fruit plus last-minute granola keep the parfait crisp instead of watery.
Substitutions
- berries → banana slices
- honey → maple syrup
